みなさん、東京国際フォーラムで開かれたUIA 2011には行かれましたでしょうか。

Did you go to Tokyo International Forum to see UIA Congress 2011?



『トレフォルム』設計の西沢立衛さんがSANAAとして
代表作の２１世紀美術館を始め現在手がけているプロジェクトまで、
作品の紹介をして下さいました。

Mr. Ryue Nishizawa, who is one of the architects of the "treform",
showed us SANAA's representative masterpieces from
21 century museum to latest projects with Ms. Kazuyo Sejima.



他にも仙台メディアテークで有名な伊東豊雄さんや
大阪の光の教会で有名な安藤忠雄さんも、
講演や海外建築家とのセッションを行われました。

Mr. Toyo Ito, who is famous for Sendai Mediatheque,
and Mr. Tadao Ando for Church of the Light
made a speech or had a session with other international architects.



表参道のスパイラルや代官山のヒルサイドテラスで有名な槇文彦さんは、
日本人が持つ独特の感性や風習から３月の地震に至るまで、
幅広いテーマで建築について語って下さいました。

Mr. Fumihiko Maki, who is famous for SPIRAL in Omotesando
and Hillside Terrace in Daikanyama, gave us a lecture
about architecture in a wide range of themes
starting with unique Japanese sensibility and ritual to
3.11 earthquake.

他にもブータンの首相、発展途上国で調査を行っている建築家、
ニューヨークで活躍しているプロダクトデザイナー、
ロシアで活動している建築家等、
各国から様々なバックグラウンドを持つ方達が集まり、
建築が社会に与える影響や事の壮大さを改めて目の当たりにさせられる
とても良い機会になりました。

There were many other stimulating lecture and sessions from
people who have a different backgrounds such as
President of Bhutan, an architect who is doing research in Africa,
product designer acting in NY, and architect in Russia.
It was a great opportunity to reconsider how much architecture can
give an affect to the society in a global way.



フォーラムのファサードには１００００人の各国建築家の
代表作品と写真が展示されました。

Panels of 10000 architects were on the facade
of the building.

『チルコ』や『モデルナ』を設計した
設計組織ADHの渡辺真理さんと木下庸子さん、
そして『ワイエイチビルディング』や『ノミカワフラット』を設計した
若松均さんのパネル展示がありました。

Ms. Yoko Kinoshita and Mr. Makoto Watanabe from ADH,
who designed "circo" and "moderna",
and Mr. Hitoshi Wakamatsu, who designed "Nomikawa flat"
and "yh building", were on the panel.



次回、２０１４年の開催国は南アフリカ共和国のダーバンです。

Next stage of UIA congress 2014 is Durban in South Africa.

９月２５日から１０月１日まで、第２４回世界建築会議が開催されます。

There is The 24th World Congress of Architecture in Tokyo
from 25th of this month to 1st of October.



様々な国から建築家が集まって講演やワークショップを行ったりするもので、
『トレフォルム』を設計した西沢立衛さんもSANAAとして講演します。
参加費がかかりますが、無料で参加できるものもあります。
建築に興味のある方は是非足を運んでみてはいかがでしょうか。
色々な切り口から建築について考える良い機会になること間違いなしです。

Architects from other countries gather in Tokyo
to discuss, speech, and think about architecture.
Arch. Ryue Nishizawa who designed "Treform"
will have a lecture as SANAA.
You need to register and there will be charge for this event,
but there are some that you can see for free.
If you are interested in Architecture,
how about going to see this big event next week?
I'm sure this will be a great opportunity to think about
architecture from different perspectives.

赤坂見附駅まで歩いていくと、こんな看板が出ていました。



赤坂氷川神社でお祭りがあるようです！



TPO事務所からはちょっと距離がありますが、
ふらっと足を運んでみました。


TBSビックハットからも程近い位置にありながら
緑いっぱいで都会の喧騒を忘れさせてくれます。


境内では、お祭り本番に向け準備を進めてました。
櫓も立てられていました。



17日(土)18日(日)は盆踊りが開催されるようです。
露店も並ぶみたいです！！！

お時間のある方はぜひ足を運んでみて下さい。

残暑御見舞で戴きました。

海岸からほど遠い京都において海辺の汐風の涼しさを感じさせてくれる
浜土産（はまつど）という京都の涼菓です。

蛤に寒天と砂糖などを一緒に煮詰めたもの中に、浜納豆が一粒
添えてある桧葉は、軽い防腐の役目です。

琥珀糖の甘さと納豆の味噌風味が調和して、独特の味が広がります。

ご馳走さまです。

熱海の温泉旅館「蓬莱」へ行ってきました。
創業150年を超える老舗旅館。
熱海駅から車で5分にも関わらず、伊豆山の急傾斜に建つ旅館は、
古齢の木々に囲まれ緑豊かで、静かな佇まい。



今回の一番の目的は、隈研吾さん設計の露天風呂「古々比の滝（こごいのゆ）」。
他の方がいらしたのですべてを撮る事ができなかったのですが
風呂場の戸をあけるとそこはガラス張りのオープンな脱衣所と檜のお風呂。
視界をさえぎるものがないので、開放感バツグン。
脱衣の段階から露天感覚を味わう事ができました。

相模湾から吹くさわやかな風をうけながら
やわらかいお湯はいつまでも浸かっていられる心地よさでした。



夜は熱海海上花火大会を鑑賞。
火の粉が降ってくるのではと思えるほどの至近距離で、
３０分間絶え間なく打ち上げられる花火を堪能しました。


古い建物を大切に使いながら、新しいデザインも取り入れる老舗旅館。
そのバランス感覚と仲居さんのおもてなしの心に触れたひとときでした。
都会の喧騒から離れてまったりと温泉を味わいたい方にはおすすです。

先日、RADIANにてオーナー主催の隣人祭りが行われました。

The Neighborhood Party planed by building owner was held in RADIAN.



任意で入居者とオーナーが集まって食べ物や飲み物を持ち寄り、
建物の中心である中庭でワイワイ飲むというカジュアルなパーティーです。

It's a casual party of residents and the owner.
If you want to join, you bring some drink or food to this fancy patio,
and have a conversation with other residents.



近隣のお店についての情報交換、お部屋の使い方についての相談、
海外旅行について、地震の時どうしたかなど、
RADIANならではの生活情報や住人の経験談で盛り上がりました。
外国のコンドミニアムではこういうパーティはよくあるとか。
顔を合わせることで安心して住まえる環境を自ら作ることもできます。

We exchanged information such as shops around the nearest station,
ideas of the layout of their room,
and how others dealt with earthquake incident.
Also we talked about each ones backgrounds and life experiences.
Seeing neighbors faces makes you relaxed on living in the apartment.
It's quite usual to have this kind of party in Europe and North America.

RADIANは現在満室ですが、
ISANAなんかも同じようなコミュニティのある集合住宅です。

Rooms in RADIAN are occupied now, but there are other apartments
which have this kind of events and atmosphere, like ISANA.

節電対策で企業の夏休みが長期化傾向にあるようですね。

弊社は明日13日（土）から17日（水）まで夏期休業とさせていただきます。

８月８日はTPOの設立記念日です。
今年は設立から１５周年を迎える年になります。

Yesterday, 8th of August 2011, was TPO's
15th anniversary. (yey!)



誠に勝手ながら、午後３時から臨時休業とさせていただき、
社内イベントとして「ダイアログ・イン・ザ・ダーク」に社員全員で参加しました。

We took evening off from 3pm yesterday, and went to
"dialog in the dark" as anniversary event.



全く光のない真っ暗闇の中を歩くという体験ができるイベントで、
季節によって内装のテーマが変わります。
真っ暗の中でお互いに声を掛け合いながら歩いたり遊んだり
飲食をすることができます。
視覚以外の感覚（聴覚、触覚、嗅覚、味覚、人によっては第六感？！）を
フルに使いながら、声を出したり触れたりすることによる
コミュニケーションの重要性について考えさせられる経験となりました。

It's an event that you can walk in the space where
there is no light at all.
Inside theme differs on each season.
We could play, walk, talk, eat and drink in the dark.
Using full sense except for sight (hearing, feeling, tasting,
smelling, and maybe for some people the sixth sense)
we learnt the importance of making communication.



その後明治記念館へ移動しおいしくビールを頂きました。

After the event, we enjoyed beer at Meiji Kinenkan.

熱中症にご注意を

猛暑日がまだまだ続きますね～
夏のお出かけは、楽しいですが、

最近、牛乳が飲みたくなるのは、このせいだったのかしら・・・
と勝手に思ったりしています。

ムシムシする季節の大敵はなんと言ってもカビ。
コンクリート打ち放しの多いTPO物件は
油断をすると湿気がこもり易いので注意が必要です。
特に新築物件は
打ったばかりのコンクリートから水分が抜け切っていないので、
換気がとても重要になってきます。

Humid summer in Tokyo has the best condition
for molds to inhabit.
Since most of the TPO apartments are made of
exposed concrete, which tends to contain
humidity in the space, 24 hours ventilation is crucial.

今回は特に湿気がこもり易いお風呂場について、
是非行って欲しい対策をご紹介します。

Today, I would like to introduce some
easy measure against molds which I highly
recommend you to do at home in daily life.



そもそもカビ菌はどこにでも浮遊しており、
気温２５℃以上、湿度７５％以上、
栄養となる餌がある、という条件が揃うと増殖します。
お風呂場には湿度と気温以外に、
髪の毛や石鹸カスといった餌があるために、
住宅の中では一番カビが発生し易い場所なのです。

Molds are floating around in the air
that you cannot just avoid or extinguish them.
Molds propagate themselves in the condition of
more than 77℉ of temperature, 75% of humidity,
and food such as human hair and soap scum.
Bathroom is the best place for molds to inhabit in house.



カビを発生させないためにはこの条件を作らないことです。
まず、お風呂を出る時に冷水でお風呂場を冷やすと共に、
壁や床等についている石鹸カスや垢を洗い流しましょう。

All you have to do is not to make this best condition.
When you finish your bath time,
cool down the bathroom with cold water.
At the same time, wash away all the soap scum
and dirt on the tub, wall, and floor.



次に、壁や床や浴槽の水滴をきれいに拭き取りましょう。
打ち放しやガラス張りのお風呂場であれば壁全体と隅っこの、
タイルのお風呂であれば特に目地の水気を取りましょう。
ユニットバスは大体既に抗菌処理が施されていますが、
全体を拭くことをオススメします。
この時、洗面器やシャンプー等を壁から離し、
全体を乾かしましょう。

After cooling down the bathroom, wipe away all the
water drops on the wall and floor of the room.

Exposed concrete and glass bathroom:
Wipe with dry towel. Don't forget the edge.

Unit bathroom:
Usually, it is made of anti-bacteria materials,
but I recommend to wipe all off with towel or hand wiper.



窓がついているお風呂場では窓を開けましょう。
５cm程度で十分です。

Open the window, at least 5cm, if you have window
in the bathroom.



窓がなければドアを開けましょう。

If you don't have window in the bathroom,
leave the door open.



常に２４時間換気は行って下さい。

Set the ventilation on 24hours a day 7days a week.

それでも湿気がこもる場合は、
除湿器や扇風機を置くことをオススメします。
また、浴室乾燥機を点けると温度が一気に上がるので、
湿度が高い状態では逆にカビが生え易くなります。
湿気を十分に取ってから点けるか、冬場だけの利用にしましょう。

If the bathroom is still humid,
place a dehumidifier or a fan.
When you are using heating dryer,
make sure that the space is not humid.
Heating dryer rises the temperature so that
it might cause molds if humidity is not enough taken away.

日頃から注意していればカビは防げます。
是非日頃から実践してください。

Molds don't live in your bathroom
if you take care of humidity, temperature, and dirt.
Why don't you start these above from today??
